Part 2 - The Ceremony

By Melanie

The wedding ceremony was amazing. It was just perfect! It was located on the gazebo which jutted out from the sand into the water. I originally wanted the ceremony on the sand but when I saw the gazebo on their website it was just too beautiful to pass up. I'm so glad I decided to go with that location.

My brother and Mom walked me down the aisle (my Dad past away many years ago). As I started down the aisle I got a little teary eyed. I didn't think I would because I was so excited but I just couldn't help it. It's such an emotional moment.

It was a bit windy and my veil blew off! So bummed! At least it didn't fall into the water (almost did though!) and I got to wear it for my entrance.

We said our I do's and had a sand ceremony (where you blend sand from two vases into one).

And of course THE KISS!

Here we are - Mr. and Mrs.

Family and friends.

My Grandma is in the photo above. Luckily my Grandma was able to make it. She's 91 and rocked it!
My husband! I have yet to say it in public. I wonder how strange that will feel. I can't wait!

Part 1 - A Fairytale Wedding

By Melanie

So it's official, I'm a married woman!
As you know, I recently had a destination wedding in Riviera Maya Mexico (which is on the gulf side and we were right next to Playa Del Carmen) and this is why I've been MIA lately on the blog (sorry).

I'm so glad I decided to have a destination wedding (more on that later). I really felt like a princess for a day in the most BEAUTIFUL location! I couldn't have asked for a more picturesque backdrop.
So this blog post and the next few are filled with lots of pictures!

We stayed at the all inclusive Dreams Resort Puerto Adventuras. This place was awesome! Gorgeous resort, amazing beach, great restuarants. We had the best weather too.

Brian and I arrived on Monday and the guests started to trickle in the next few days.

Friday, May 14th - the big day.

Getting ready.

I had an amazing photographer from the resort. Very talented!
Since my sister was my maid of honor and she came to my room to get dressed and help me. We had mimosas and a great time getting ready. Although we ran a little late to the ceremony. Oops!

My sister and Maid of Honor hard at work! Thank goodness for her help! After I put my dress on I couldn't bend down to buckle the strap on my heels!

My Mom came to my room and helped me as well.

My Mom and sister.

This was really an amazing experience. Not only the getting married part (of course) but also the entire time leading up to the ceremony and after. It was so nice to be able to spend the entire day and night celebrating and then hanging out for days after with my family and friends. I definitely recommend a destination wedding. Thank you Mom!
