Kitchen Face lift

Although the above kitchen photo really appeals to me, my bf would NEVER go for that! Can you imagine how much his friends would make fun of him?! So when we decided to paint our kitchen, I knew are couldn't propose this feminine of a makeover. Luckily, he agreed to a really pretty light blue and white. I love it and probably would get sick of the pink anyway!

Wow, I didn't realize HOW long it takes to paint a room. We had to paint the ceiling and cabinets too. Well, we finally got around to painting it after buying the primer and paint back in February!!! It took us a full day and a half. But so worth it because it looks FABULOUS!

Many many months ago I blogged about my ideal kitchen here.

My original inspiration was my tea pot. Although we decided to go a little less turquoise and more basic light blue (which works out since the spare room has the turquoise color scheme going on).

Before- well not really before, gosh that would be hideous! This is after we stripped and sanded it.

During: Tough Work- I would never make it as a professional painter!

And my sister bought my bf this AMAZING art print for Christmas from Ork Posters. It's a map of Los Angeles. So cool. They have lots of different cities too.

Doesn't the orange play well off the blue? See how she has such great taste!

My boyfriend (fiance sounds so korny) grew up in LA so this map print is so fitting for my LA honey. Plus, I love LA too :)

Not really TGIM but I did have a much needed relaxing and fun weekend. I went up to LA to see my sister and had some great sister time. I feel totally rejuvanted!

So, since my weekend turned out to be pretty nice I'd like to start this week out with a smile and make today a happy Monday!

Some good news: I won another giveaway!!! A super cute summer dress from Anywhere But Here. Gosh, I've been so lucky lately. Well, in regards to some things anyway. When I saw that dress on her blog, I totally wanted it. It's so my style and I knew I had to have it! So maybe I won because of the power of positive thinking. Hmmm...I'll have to try that more often!

Thank you SO MUCH Anywhere But Here! Can't wait to wear it!

And little more good news:

My sister is joining Underfunded Hieress soon! Yay! She will be a great addition and I know you'll LOVE her! We'll be like the Hiltons sisters (ie heiresses) ...ONLY way better...except for the trust fund part (darn, because that probably is the best part)!

Anyway, she has tons of experience in fashion. A total expert! Plus she just has a natural cool style that I've admired for years. She's my go to gal when I need advice on outfits, style and knowing when something is in or soooo last season or dare I say soooo OC (sorry Orange County, you know I love you-sorta). Can't wait!

I totally feel like I need a day of lounging in something soft and pretty. Especially after such a long work week and dealing with stupid neighbor problems.

I saw this on MSN today with the heading "Celebrity Fashion Fails". Actress Hayden Panetteire wore it on David Letterman. So, I have to say, I think it's so CUTE! She's young, fun and pretty...so why not. Plus she pairs it with such stylish shoes and a less sexy hairstyle.

I do think there is a fine line between looking trashy in a lace dress and looking sexy. I think this totally works. She looks stunning.

I am so ready for a 3 day weekend! Happy Fourth of July!

This 4th, I'm going to:

1. Go to the parade.
2. Have a veggie burger at a bbq.
3. Soak up some sun at the beach (of course wearing my spf 50 and a hat).
4. Ride my beach cruiser around.
5. Watch the fireworks show at the beach.

Sounds fun to me!
