Lookbook: Denim Cut-Offs

by Heather
I used to own a vintage shop in Cleveland and these cut-offs are from my line of re-designed vintage. Does anyone remember the online boutique Girlshop?? I use to sell my line there back in 2000-'02, as well as a few boutiques in Manhattan. I also hand-made tees with airbrushed artwork. The floral design on these Levi 501 shorts is airbrushed. I actually have 2 similar pairs, so I'll be selling one in my soon to be launched "Heirra" Etsy boutique.

If only I was a Hilton, instead of a Budget Inn...

by Heather
If I wasn't so underfunded I'd prance about town and sip martinis in this newly purchased ensemble:

Jimmy Choo Jazz Leopard-print pumps. The elegance of pumps with the wild print is my perfect style.

Halston's blue suede stud cuff. I do love jewelry ;)

Theory denim dress with jersey bodice panels (via Shopbop.com)
Stella McCartney zebra-print clutch.

Marc by Marc Jacob's double breasted Blazer (via Shopbop.com).

What designers would be in your closet if you were an heiress?

P.S. As promised, denim cut-off lookbook coming soon; I've been feeling under the weather and haven't had a chance to shoot it yet.

Walk This Way

By Melanie

This weekend was spent organizing, packing and doing laundry. Lot's of fun ;) Well, I did squeeze in a little bit of fun. But last weekend I had much more. I went hiking at my favorite spot.

This is in El Moro Canyon which is located in Newport Beach, right before entering Laguna Beach. If you haven't been, it's a must! Breathtaking views! This is the view at the top after hiking up through the canyon.

Hiking was goal # 5 on my SUMMER to do list blogged about here.
My honey on the way back down.

Taking a little break.
Hiking Essentials:

Tank Top - I love hearts. Isn't this the cutest without being too girly?

By Peace Love World

Shorts - breathable material is key (of course stylish is a given) because you work up a sweat.

By Lucy

Sweatshirt- you never know if a breeze will set in. Better to be prepared. Plus I'm usually always cold!

Fun socks - Okay I probably won't wear them up if it's hot out. But perfect for the cooler seasons.

By American Apparal

Hiking Shoes - These are perfect because they look like running shoes but are made for hiking. If you wear regular running shoes your ankles start to hurt (once or twice is okay but if you are an avid hiker, these shoes work best.

By Nike

Water Bottle - Trust me you get VERY thirsty! Eco-friendly resusable ones are the best. Sigg brand is one of my favorites. They have cool designs.

Hiking is one of my favorite activities AND I am NOT a sporty type girl. But since I do love nature and being active, I really enjoy it.
Do you have any favorite hiking trails?

Straw fedora hat by San Diego Hat Company from Bloomingdales

Chic oversized sunnies by Forever 21

Heart shell bikini by victoria secret.
Night time Mexico outfits coming early next week.
Do you have summer vacays planned or recently been on one?
Have a lovely weekend!

Gotta Have It: Denim Cut-Offs

by Heather
I'm loving the ubiquitous denim cut-offs this summer. Here's a variety of cool looks:

Kate Moss via Denimology

Mary Kate Olsen via Denim Blog

Penelope Cruz via Her Daily

Olivia Wilde via GQ magazine. Awesome gymnastic theme shoot.

Kristen Cavallari via denimology

Erin Wasson via Modelina

via Cobrasnake

Rachel Blison via The Style Rules. I adore her style!

I forgot where I nabbed this one but it is too HOT not to post.

Will this trend have staying power for Fall/Winter with tights and boots? I'm not sure if I'm brave enough to sport the look, but these ladies have pulled it off nicely:

Sarah Rutson, Fashion Director of Lane Crawford via AltamiraNYC

Kate Moss and her man from the band The Kills (great music).

Have you been wearing denim cut-offs this summer?
I have a lookbook post coming next week with a pair of my favorite cut-offs.

I Feel Pretty, So Pretty...

By Melanie

photo via fotosearch

I don't know about you but I LOVE makeup. Don't get me wrong though, NOT the caked on, looks like she painted her face makeup that all guys hate. But rather the kind that makes you look AND FEEL pretty (which is really what it's all about right?).

So when I won the Sephora gift card giveaway from the fabulous Gabby at Gabby, She Wrote, I was so EXCITED! I'm sure I've mentioned my winning before but have yet to show you what I've bought. I've been so busy it took me awhile to actually take a trip to the store. I know I could have ordered it online but I wanted to have the fun of going to this makeup wonderland.

This isn't the store by me but it looks like a fun one to go to!

My gift card! Yay!

.....AND in great anticipation....my purchases:

Stila eyeshadow in Wheat. Because you can never have enough Stila :)

This is a great shade because it's perfect for day. It gives you a little shimmer and a touch of beige color. It just wakes up your eyes!

The foundation I purchased is by CoverFX. It's a mineral makeup (aka good for your skin) and it's actually a moisturizer as well. With SPF! You can't get better than that!

Very natural looking.

Of course being at the mall and experiencing a makeup HIGH, I just had to travel over to MAC. Although Sephora has a plethora of gorgeous glosses, MAC gloss has a special place in my heart.

My two favorites are Underage and Oyster Girl.

The above is Oyster Girl.

They tend to be a little thick so I usually mix it with a little clear gloss from the drugstore.

Viola!

Thank you Gabby for the wonderful Sephora Gift Card!!!

Have a pretty Wednesday everyone!
