I've always love to see how people decorate their homes. It's such a creative expression of who you are and an extension of yourself. When designers let us peak into their homes, it's an absolute treat! Definitely some eye candy! Their homes are usually just as creative and gorgeous as their professional work. It's also interesting to see if their homes reflect the same style that they are known for.

Living etc gave us a little peak into the British designer, Lulu Guinness's chic Victorian Terrace.

Love the curves of the couch.

One of my favorite styles of art is silhouette art. This one is so elegant. I love the black wall decor with the bright blue.

This room is so airy and bright. Look at that huge window! That would make a great breakfast nook.

A blue, black and white palette is just so stylish. I love her over sized perfume bottle sitting on the ledge.

Although Lulu is successful in the fashion world, she's also popular in home decor. She's known for her bed linen.

I like how the rose bed linen is paired with a black headboard. It balances the girliness of the pink flowers.

As promised....below are some pics of Kelly Wearstler's new luxury bed linen for Sferra. I love the textures and patterns! I also love how it's elegant yet soft and pretty. The design is not too crazy or from the 90's ;) More subdued. I think it's pretty and cozy: can totally picture sleeping for hours in it!

So, unfortunately, I never watched Top Design and I missed Kelly Wearstler's over the top outfits and style. In addition, I'm not a huge design buff where I know the who's who of the design world. I really just like what I like, not because it's from a specific "in" designer. So, since my knowledge of Kelly Wearstler and her work is limited, I did a little research. Quite interesting to say the least. Many either love her style or hate it. Some say her design is too decade specific, like the 70's or the 90's (see earlier post). Many speculate that she is where she is today because she married a hotel developer (The Kor Group) and of course had the opportunity to decorate some of his hotels (the Viceroy, Avalon & Maison 140). The rumor is that she's a bit of an opportunist and has a great nack for self-promotion. BTW, she posed in Playboy in the 90's too (just thought that was interesting, definitely NOT judging). Well, I am not one to speculate (too much) and I have to say what's wrong with a little self promotion and working what you've got. I conclude that she has great fashion sense, is gorgeous of course and since I like most of her work, I'm all for her :)

I just got my daily email from Apartment Therapy with the news that the interior design goddess Kelly Wearstler will have a new line of bedding for Sferra coming out soon. Oooh, how exciting! She has impeccable tast and beautiful style. Apartment Therapy will have pics soon...can't wait! In the meantime, below are some of photos of her guesthouse behind her Beverly Hills home. Side note: So it's starting to really sink in how completely sucky the economy is: Domino Magazine is closing-what!!!. I am so disappointed. So much of my inspiration came from this magazine. It was such a sweet surprise every month when it came in the mail, not too mention being able to peruse the site for gorgeous photos! This is sooooo depressing!!!
