Winter Wonderland

For Christmas I went back to Ohio to visit my family. Months ago I found this suitcase tag and just had to buy it! Oh, life as an underfunded heiress ;p

I was hoping for a beautiful white Christmas but instead it rained and was around 50 degrees. I think it may have been colder in Cali!

Although I missed out on making snow angels, I still had a very nice and relaxing time. I love going back and seeing my family. I wish they all lived here.
No Christmas tree but we did have a snowman that lit up :)

My Mom
My friend Jennifer who I met in 3rd grade!

Grandma - she's so stylin!

I am almost embarrassed to admit that much of my visit was spent sleeping in until noon, watching marathon holiday movies and eating JUNK FOOD! Ohio will do that to you. I felt like a bear in hibernation. I blame it on the weather! On the way from the airport to my mom's house (that's right, I didn't even wait until I got home and unpacked) we stopped at Jack Frost donuts. These are the absolutely BEST donuts ever! They are soooo delicous and fresh. Yummmm.

I love the holidays!!!

A Perfect Dress For 2009

I am looking for a cute dress to wear for New Year's Eve. Last year I wore the gold dress below. I LOVE this dress, especially the gold shimmer color! I really really would like to wear it again but since that's a no no, I found some other cute dresses that would be perfect to ring in the new year.

I think the black tights look cool with the pink dresses. Gives it a bit of an edge instead of super girly. But I like super girly too so maybe I would wear it without the tights. Hmmm.....

I think this sexy black bootie would look hot!

My new crush

I recently redecorated the spare room. And let me tell you, it was long overdue! It’s looking pretty cute now, although it’s not quite finished. One of my favorite parts of decorating is finding unique artwork that you can't help but fall madly in love with. I recently became smitten with the artist Bailey Saliwanchik. She has an amazing style. I recently bought a print from the New York gallery Charmingwall. I hope to buy an original very soon!

On the 11th day before Christmas my true love said to me……

Actually, I said to him: let’s go on a weekend trip for our Christmas gift to each other! I thought this would be a great way to relax and spend some quality time with my honey. So Palm Springs seems like the perfect getaway since I will be going to Ohio for Christmas (brrrr). The perfect place to warm my frost bitten nose!

For our weekend getaway, I was thinking of booking a room at the Viceroy hotel. I recently stayed there during a girls weekend trip this past summer. Ever since then I have been dying to go back. I absolutely love the old Hollywood style and charm of this boutique hotel. The hip contemporary decor and cabana style pool makes you feel like a movie star from the 50's. It's just so stylish. I love the geometric shapes. I am so inspired by the decor, I want to decorate one of my rooms just like it!

Hello My Name Is.....

So, it’s official! I am finally part of the blogger world! Wow, along with my excitement, I feel a little nervous, like the new kid on the first day of school. Oh boy, I hope everyone likes me. :)

Several years ago, I moved from the Midwest to Southern California. All the way from Ohio to the big city, well, right outside the big city, being that I live in Huntington Beach. From the moment I moved here, I have been in love with everything So Cal has to offer. I just love the California “beach” lifestyle: flip flops, beach cruisers, palm trees and sunshine. Being able to walk to the beach and soak in all of nature’s beauty is such a treat. Anytime I am feeling stressed or uninspired, I just jump on my bike for a little ride on the boardwalk or sit on the beach and admire the ocean. It instantly makes me feel so good!

I just want to give you a peak of what Huntington Beach has to offer in terms of the beach beauty (the first two pics are of Huntington Beach, the third is Rancho Palos Verdes and fourth is Santa Monica). My mom came to visit from Ohio a few weeks ago and we walked to the pier and then took a drive up the coast to Santa Monica where my sister lives. Below are a few of the pictures from that day. Enjoy!
