You Are My Sunshine

By Melanie
source: W Magaine

It was my fiance's birthday this past Wednesday. I made a delicious dinner (salmon and stuffed mushrooms) and bought a yummy carrot cake (cook AND bake - no way!). He loved dinner - Yay! That made me feel like a superstar since I'm really not that good at it. Btw he loves to cook and is awesome at it! Talk about pressure! I should take some cooking classes.

Have a great Friday!

Beach Bliss

by Heather

I've been following Zanita's blog for awhile now, she's really mastering her photography and Photoshop skills. She posted these lovely photos on her blog last week. They're getting me all hot and bothered for my upcoming trip to Mexico for Melanie's beach wedding.

Oh, and what wonderful fashion styling in these too.

If you don't know her blog, check it out. She's a beautiful model from Sydney.

Crystal Light

By Melanie

I think my favorite home accessory is a chandelier. They are just so gorgeous to look at and add such elegance and style to a room.

Just so pretty! I love the smaller ones for the bedroom.

Not as nice as the crystal chandelier's but still cute. Perfect for someone who likes a more simple contemporary type of lighting.

And if a real chandelier just isn't your style, how about a picture of one?

source: photos above are from living etc.
Kinda cool! It goes well with the modern fireplace.

I have two in my apartment. Best purchase ever! One in the dining area and one in the spare room.

My chandelier is from Z Gallerie which is my favorite home furnishings store (although a little on the pricey side). It perfectly compliments the pink roses from my honey on Valentine's day!

Lookbook: Stripe Sweater

By Heather

I love this vintage sweater, but it has a few small stains in front, so I was thinking of cropping it. But this belt did the trick too, hides all the stains.

Vintage sweater; Italian black blazer (label fell out, 7-8 yrs old); Heirra heart necklace; long necklace from The Limited circa mid 90s (yes, I've had it that long!); Boots by 2 Prima (old, also seen here and here); Leggings from F21; Belt from random boutique on Main St in SM (also seen here).

I hope everyone is off to a good start this week. I've been so busy, this month is flying by. I started taking graphic design classes, I'm working on a new jewelry collection, and I'm in the process of moving to San Diego!

Paper Cups

by Heather
These ABC paper cups are too cute! Perfect for summertime BBQs or kids parties (small or big kids:)). Some silly games could be made with these cups.

How was your weekend? I've been busy packing. I'm moving to San Diego!

Style, Anytime

By Melanie

via Jak & Jil blog

How's your weekend looking? Any special plans?

My weekend will be spent trying trying to get my wedding invitations out on Saturday. Hmmm....not sure if that's going to happen. I designed them myself and although it was a lot of fun, I didn't realize how long it takes! I picked them up from the printer yesterday and now I just need to find some ribbon and nice envelopes. Wish me luck!

NY fashion week via Citizen Couture, featuring Liz from Late Afternoon.

More fashion week via Citizen Couture. Gorgeous scarf. I love it juxtaposed with the tweed jacket.

Paris fashion week, outside Christian Dior, via Stockholm Street Style. The skirt is so pretty and I adore the black and cream combo.

Stunning necklace and I love the pattern trouser socks with the jeans.

London fashion week via Vanessa Jackman

Paris fashion week, via Trendy Crew. Great jacket.

Lookbook: Croissant Head

by Heather

My boyfriend endearingly calls this the "croissant" 'd0. I guess it looks like a croissant from certain viewpoints. It's my go-to 'do for hot-tubbing at the condo.

I just got this burnout silver throw-over from Alternative Apparel. I think this is going to be a spring/summer '10 staple for me; it's cute, easy and neutral.

I love this lavender colored bodysuit from AA. But, it's not the best ensemble to wear out...what happens when you have to use the Ladies' room? I'd happily pay a few dollars more for some efficient baby snaps.

Throw-over by Alternative Apparel; Bodysuit by American Apparel; Jeans by Sacred Blue (old); Necklace by Heirra; Rings from PrettyFine Jewelry; Italian boots by 2 Prima (old)

Distractivity

by Heather

“Distractivity is what you’re doing when you get distracted from what you should be doing. It’s generally what you want to do, often what you need to do, and arguably, what you’ll do best.”

- John Goodman from Distractivity

My distractivity -- virtual window shopping. Take a look at all the goodies I found over the weekend while taking much needed study breaks....okay, slacker procrastination breaks. (I'm studying graphic design!)

Set of five magnetic picture frames, shaped like instant photos. Just slide your photographs in and stick 'em to pretty much any metal surface - the fridge, a cabinet, a locker... you get the picture.
-Urban Outfitter $10.00

These sassy card designs made me smile.
Pop + Shorty for $3.50 each.

Custom mugs with you and your lover's portrait. I love this idea, I want a set.
BROOKLYNrehab $65.00.

Vintage sweater, with fringe! I wanted to click "add to cart" so badly, but I'm being good with my finances right now.
HalfCaf $27.00

Unisex hand-knitted "grungy tweed" scarf.
Day of the Head $70.00

Recycled wooden signs that come in a variety of colors.
William Dohman's Etsy shop $32.00 each

How was your weekend? Do any shopping?

V Day - Love it or Hate it?

Anyone getting all dolled up for a Valentine's date? Brian and I will probably go to dinner. Not sure where exactly. I like V day but hate that restaurants try to cram more people in for that night and have a set menu. I'm a picky eater and like options! But it's still a romantic day. I'm hoping for some chocolate from my honey. Yum!

If only I was Hilton, instead of a Budget Inn...

by Heather
...I'd be decked out as the Queen of Hearts on Valentines day. I would hop on my private jet with my honey and head to a tropical paradise.

For the private jet ride:
Moschino Lurex knit dress
Marc Jacobs suede flats
Alex Monroe ring

For lounging on the beach:
Prada bikini
Burberry tote bag
Burberry keyring

Ksubi burning heart tee as my cover-up.

For our 5 star Dinner:

Moschino Silk-Jacquard dress

Alexander McQueen pumps
Burberry leather bracelet

Do you guys have any special plans for Valentines's day?

I'll be spending the day in San Diego with my main squeeze :)
