Will You Decorate My Apartment, Please?

photo via Sferra

I just got my daily email from Apartment Therapy with the news that the interior design goddess Kelly Wearstler will have a new line of bedding for Sferra coming out soon. Oooh, how exciting! She has impeccable tast and beautiful style. Apartment Therapy will have pics soon...can't wait! In the meantime, below are some of photos of her guesthouse behind her Beverly Hills home. So glamorous!

Kelly Wearstler decorates a lot of upscale boutique hotels, including my favorite the Viceroy!

Side note: So it's starting to really sink in how completely sucky the economy is: Domino Magazine is closing-what!!!. I am so disappointed. So much of my inspiration came from this magazine. It was such a sweet surprise every month when it came in the mail, not too mention being able to peruse the site for gorgeous photos! This is sooooo depressing!!!

Tough Love

Every birthday I like to set some new goals for myself. I like to write in a journal about what I would like to accomplish and do. One of my presents this year from my Mom was a journal from the Skinny Bitch series called Skinny Bitchin' by Rory Freedom and Kim Barnouin. This book is about how to be proactive about making your life better and being happy. It touches on every aspect of life from work to relationships, to just being a better you. Their other Skinny Bitch books are about health, vegetarianism and veg recipes (which I love because I'm a vegetarian). The authors are very straight forward and tell it like it is, without sugar coating it. They are very funny though. Tough love with humor!

Each page has a quote and then they ask you a question that gets you thinking about the subject of the quote.
Sorry if it's hard to read. This is the best I could get it to look. Below are some of the quotes in the book that I found very inspirational. The first quote is my favorite and so insightful.

"So many people tiptoe through life, so carefully, to arrive, safely, at death." -Jermaine Evans

"How am I going to live today in order to create the tomorrow I'm committed to." -Tony Robbins

"Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall." -Confucious

"Sooner or later, those that win are those who think they can." -Richard Bach

"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." - Eleanor Roosevelt

"People say that your're going the wrong way when it's simply a way of your own." -Angelina Jolie

I also really like to write in nice well made journals. I love these handmade journals by art kitten on etsy. Aren't they cute?

The Big Apple

photo via nymag

It was a little dreary and cold here in Cali this past weekend, so I caught up on some episodes of The City. I know it's as FAKE as The Hills but I love it! The City is so much better than The Hills. The Hills characters made me want to puke way too often. They are NOT that cute and so BORING, not to mention ANNOYING. I only really watched it to see where they would go in LA and to see the few cute outfits they would wear. I have completely stopped watching it and could care less what those people are doing or should I say not really doing ;) Even though The City is probably as shallow and silly, it has a way better story line and the cast is cuter and cooler (Whitney was the only one I really thought was cute and somewhat normal from the Hills). I also go crazy for their amazing style and fabulous apartments not to mention AWESOME New York! I'm so jealous!

Just an FYI, I was at a concert in LA a few months back and saw Whitney there. She was dressed so adorable in a short puffy sweetheart cut prom like dress and ballet flats.

Love that fun skirt.

Wow, look at that view.

I think Jay's a hottie. Or maybe it's just his Australian accent. Anyone on board with me?

So Stylin

I'm sure this dress is everywhere.....but I can't help myself, it's just too gorgeous not to blog about! Her dress is a white chiffon by designer Jason Wu.

Now, some fashion critics are snubbing her dress and find her choice disappointing. I love it though. Not only does it look fabulous on her, I think the color and style represents new beginnings and a fresh start from a dark time. Okay, maybe I am reading too much into it. What do you think? Hot or Not?

I wonder what her shoes look like.

BTW, we share the same birthday- January 17th. Happy Belated Birthday to our first lady, Michelle Obama!

Barbie's Dream Home

Sorry Barbie, but I'm giving you an eviction notice! This house was built for me! When I was a little girl, my favorite pastime was playing barbies. I had a dozen barbie dolls, not to mention Ken, Skipper, even the Corvette. But the one thing I always wished for was the Barbie Dream House....instead I had the trailer ;( So, even to this day, it's been my wish to live in a cute Barbie like house.

Look how adorable the pink house is peaking out from behind the trees. This picture is taken at my friend house who lives across the street. She's Barbie's neighbor!

I bet it's really cute inside. Maybe something like this.....

I could spend hours in that bathtub. Glass of wine, fruity mask on my face and some chillin tunes...so relaxing.

That chandelier is gorgeous and goes so well with the blue walls. Light blue is my favorite color next to pink :-)

BTW, the pink house is right by the beach so my Dream home has to have an amazing view and of course a great spot to lounge ;D

I'll keep you posted on my move in date..........I wish!

Vegas Baby!

Saturday was the big birthday! We decided to celebrate in style, so last minute, we packed our bags and headed to Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. We were pretty lucky during the trip. Although we didn't win any money gambling (well, I only played $20 on the slot machines so how much could I really win), we did get a complimentary upgrade to a suite on the penthouse level! Awe, they must have known it was my birthday ;p Our suite was so big and gorgeous with a great view. What a way to start out the night! PH has lot's of shopping available. So we checked out Bebe and found some sexy dresses to wear out. After we got all dolled up, we went to Koi for dinner and danced the night away at Prive. Thanks girls for making my birthday so fun!
