That made me laugh because a.) her outfit was soooo cute and b.) my boyfriend sometimes says that!
Perfect Example:
Soprano dress from LoehmansThis is a dress that I LOVE. My bf said he didn't really like it. What??? Sometimes I think men do not understand fashion. But he's stylish too so I didn't quite understand how he didn't just love this outfit as much as I did! Well, he said it didn't show my figure and he didn't understand the tie dye part of it (uh, ombre, silly, it's soo in).

ReplyDeleteMy husband doesn't understand alot of the stuff I wear, but doesn't really care as long as my butt isnt hanging out. I think its a cute casual dress for hanging out.
ReplyDeleteI like the ombre! You just have to think about it as girls dress up for girls, not guys. Most guys, even if they care about what they're wearing, don't have a clue about female fashion. For example, lots of guys I know HATE maxi dresses, but I think it's just because they prefer something more revealing...it's not really a style thing!

ReplyDeleteIt's like you said - to wildly overgeneralize, most (hetero) men evaluate our clothes based on two things (1) how it makes our chest look; and (2) how it makes our butt look. The rest is gravy or immaterial, as far as they're concerned.

Gosh I know what you mean - my last boyfriend, he said I was embarrassing to be with because I had 'glitter' on my eyelids and that is what 8 year olds do not 22year olds...It was just a shimmery eyeshadow and I can wear what I want!! I know what looks good! I'm getting mad remembering that night. :( xcx
